【発言録】単独で政権を取るのは我が党に限らず、自民党も厳しい時代だと思う。我が党が軸になり、他党に呼び掛けて政権をつくる。そこまでの求心力がないことはもう認めざるを得ないので、この求心力をいかに作っていくかが私たちの課題だと思う。他の(野)党はどちらかというと、自ら主体的に政権を取るのではなく、一定の議席数を持って自分たちの政策を実現するという立場だ。
例えば国民民主党は我々と同じ連合に支持してもらっている。考え方は理解できる。日本維新の会は、戦後の自民党の長期政権の中でシステムとしていらなくなったものにメスを入れたいと思っており、私たちが声をかけやすい。私たちが衆院選で比較第1党になることが政権への近道だ。
(臨時国会の首相指名選挙では)野党で野田佳彦代表に投票していただく環境づくりをしたい。勝てば政権を取ることになる。連立政権というのは、実は基本政策や理念が違う者同士が組む。自民党と公明党だって理念は違う。物価高、格差社会の是正、緊迫する国際情勢(への対応)といったミッションを期限を決めてやっていこうと「この指とまれ方式」でやることが連立政権だ。きちんと話をして、できるだけ投票していただく環境をつくりたい。(NHKの討論番組で)
